THE MONEY GRAB, by Canton, MS, young filmmaker Kamari Brooks, premiered at Malco Theatre in Madison, MS.
In addition to producing Kamari’s project, SOARPRENEUR awarded scholarships to him and co-star Caitlyn Nelson
We believe that slowing the brain/talent drain will have a direct impact on the economic growth of Mississippi's film industry. Establishing and promoting a technologically advanced and skilled workforce can eliminate the need to outsource film job opportunities to other states. SOARPRENEUR seeks to plug the brain/talent drain through the following efforts:
Promote more in-state job opportunities in film using technological advances such as the Metaverse, Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR).
Provide training in transferable skills from the current workforce to the film set.
Offer film camps/labs that introduce Mississippi youth and youthful adults to career opportunities in film.
Work with the Mississippi Film Office to promote in-state talent for job opportunities on Mississippi film sets.
We recognize that everyone’s path is different, and many will pursue opportunities outside the state. However, let this not be for lack of opportunities within.
All proceeds are tax deductible
